Welcome to our website! Our parish is built on the rich tradition of the Catholic Church drawing on the great stories of Sacred Heart and St Francis parishes which amalgamated in 2007. Our deep roots in the vibrant community of Gorton dating back to 1862 enable us to welcome and reach out to everyone with the peace and joy of Jesus Christ.

Our parish project SAFE is social action rooted in faith, our response to the needs of our local community. Please get in touch if you want to be involved, or just want to know more.

For all the latest news and events in our parish please see the weekly newsletter.

Personally I think that being a minority is actually a strength. We have to be a leavening of life and love and the leavening is infinitely smaller than the mass of fruits, flowers and trees that are born out of it. I believe I have already said that our goal is not to proselytize but to listen to needs, desires and disappointments, despair, hope. We must restore hope to young people, help the old, be open to the future, spread love. Be poor among the poor. We need to include the excluded and preach peace.
— Pope Francis sums up what we are here for as a Church
