The Ambition Music project performed to a packed Old Library in the heart of the iconic contemporary Lloyd's building in the city of London. The event was organized and sponsored by Barbara Merry; Inga Beale and Barbara Schonhofer all CEOs of Insurance based firms in the city. Barbara Schonhofer met Fr Andrew in August 2012 on a flight and the two have collaborated since to raise the profile of the work that SAFE is doing. As we write this brief report of the evening the event has raised over £6000. More importantly the young people involved had the time of their lives and wowed executives from across London. Guest of honour Sir Gerald Kaufman MP said the even was "A great success that made me proud. I loved that there's no competition between the young people, they supported each other throughout"
The night was a testament to the hard work of Allan Donoghue and Leonore Wheatley who have raised the standards of performance to professional levels. The young people are full of confidence and joy that touches the audience. "There's an honesty in the performance that you can't help but be moved by" said Leonore.
The 2 hour event began with drinks and canapés as guests mingled with the hosts and then an hour long set brought the audience to its feet. At the end of the show the young people were treated to a pizza in a nearby restaurant by Debbie Pippin.
It's a night to remember and already there's a call to make this an annual event. During the evening there were approaches made for future collaborations and performances so this really was worthwhile in so many ways.
The young people returned home today in the mini bus they arrived in driven by Damian O'Reilly. Last night will be one if those we all treasure.
